When you love each other, you eat together.

Fewf.  What a day.  Okay so let me clarify that while I am placed at Hilcrest alone, the village is so so so safe and everyone is so warm and welcoming.  Yes, I'm wandering around an African village alone for 45 minutes each morning and afternoon, but don't worry.  It's probably the safest place around here.
So this morning I went to pick up Junior and Clara..but the paths through the village can be quite confusing, as I discovered this morning.  Flora's mom saw me and dumped her on me since I was going to school anyways, so there I was with three African children on my arms going back to school.  Or so I thought.  Long story short, I had to call Isaac to find me because I had NO idea where I was.  By the time he got there (on a motorbike) I looked pathetic.  Big oafy me standing in the middle of a cornfield with these children, utterly confused.  I was in a good area of the good area, as a math teacher from a school not far away came over and told me it's a secure area and they don't like people standing around for a long time.  He asked all about me, what I was doing, where I came from, and if someone was coming to get me.  So that was a great start to the day.  By the time Isaac got me, we only had 10 minutes of teaching time left. WHOOPS.  Then when I was making the porridge, I took my eyes off it for ONE second and it boils over.  So I got lost, spilled porridge, and then didn't make enough mugs for all the kids.  Great.  Isaac assured me it was fine and that "we can't learn without challenges." Haha if only he know!! :)
So while the kids ate their porridge, Isaac fed me as usual.  I probably had 3 whole avacados, he's so sweet to bring stuff and it's rude to turn it down.  I gave him a Facebook lesson, and he and Elizabeth invited me to their house for lunch.  Of course I accepted, and what I mentioned before I left about how they serve people is TRUE.  I ate porridge and kale with my fingers and it wasn't so bad.  Elizabeth showed me how to prepare it all and let me help with everything.  As we were eating, Isaac asked if I would join them for lunch every day this week.  "When you love each other, you eat together." OH I JUST LOVE ISAAC AND ELIZABETH.  So tomorrow I'll go back to their house and Elizabeth will show me how to prepare bananas.  Yum Yum!
I got rather upset going to his house though because it was a total slap in the face.  This whole time I thought he had to be reasonably well off to fund everything, but they're no better off than the next person here.  Their house is smaller than my bedroom at home. :( It's so sad, I'd love for them to have the world.  This whole time I thought I would get so attached to the children, but it's turning out that I want to give everything to Isaac and Elizabeth.  I'm so glad Elizabeth is feeling better, but you can still see that she's very tired.
Later this week, Isaac is going to show me how to carry water on my head.  He's convinced it's going to be so so amusing, but he wants me to experience every bit of the culture which I appreciate.
I was going to go with a bunch of girls into town for dinner, but by the time I left Isaac's they had to leave so I'll spend the night reading.  Pretty much everyone is going on safari this weekend but I opted not to because I wasn't sure if Elizabeth would be well enough to work and like I said before, there is no way the school can be run by one person.
Isaac assures me every day that the Maasai village area is so safe, and I really feel it! It's so great.
The sun is going down which means I need to get back to the volunteer house!!
Wahari!! xoxoxo
